Ian Parker will talk about his new book ‘Psychoanalysis, Clinic and Context: Subjectivity, History and Autobiography’.

 

Lacan in Scotland will host a book launch for Ian Parker’s new book Psychoanalysis, Clinic and Context: Subjectivity, History and Autobiography. At times synonymous with Critical Psychology and Discourse Analysis, Ian Parker is also a practicing psychoanalyst and leading figure in the Lacanian field. He is currently the President of the College of Psychoanalysts – UK.

Professor Parker’s latest book takes a turn to the personal, exploring his own journey into psychoanalysis before opening onto a discussion of the place and practice of psychoanalysis in our contemporary culture. Following a short introduction to the book, Professor Parker will be interviewed by Calum Neill. The interview will be followed by a discussion with the audience.
