The aim is to increase the presence and knowledge of Lacanian theory in Scotland\/north of England.<\/p>\n<p>Our events this semester in 2018 include prominent Lacanian scholars and practitioners:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Friday March 9<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>&#8220;Black Mirror&#8221; Screening and analysis with Calum Neill<\/strong>, Associate Professor of Psychoanalysis and Cultural Theory at Edinburgh Napier University, author of \u201cWithout Ground: Lacanian Ethics and the Assumption of Subjectivity\u201d. More info <a href=\"https:\/\/lacaninscotland.com\/?p=314\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Monday April 23<\/span><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Seminar by Raul Moncayo<\/strong>, supervising analyst of the San Francisco Bay Area Lacanian School of Psychoanalysis, who will talk about his upcoming book &#8220;Knowing, Not-Knowing, and Jouissance, Levels, Symbols, and Codes of Experience in Freud, Lacan, and Psychoanalysis\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Tuesday May 8<\/span><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Seminar by Aaron Schuster<\/strong>, Head of the Theory Program at the Sandberg Institute, Amsterdam, and author of \u201cThe Trouble with Pleasure: Deleuze and Psychoanalysis\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Friday June 29<\/span><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Seminar by Derek Hook<\/strong>, practitioner and Associate Professor at Duquesne University, NY, author of \u201cSix Moments in Lacan: Communication and Identification in Psychology and Psychoanalysis\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The events are free and open to everyone.
