On the Desire of the Analyst<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In 1964 Lacan states that: \u201cwithout going into the mainspring of transference, it is ultimately the analyst’s desire that operates in psychoanalysis.\u201d<\/em> In this online presentation, we will explore the fundamental role of the analyst\u2019s desire. This discussion will address key questions: What is a psychoanalyst and what defines the desire of the analyst? How does it function within the treatment? What are the implications for analytic training and supervision?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dries G. M. Dulsster<\/strong><\/strong>, Ph.D., is Internship Coordinator and Educational Supervisor at the Department of Psychoanalysis and Clinical Consulting, Ghent University, Belgium. He works as a psychoanalyst in a private practice. He is a member of the Circle for Psychoanalysis of the NLS, the NLS and the WAP. He is the author of The Reign of Speech<\/em><\/em> (Palgrave), Who\u2019s Your Dora<\/em><\/em> (Routledge) and Helden van de Hulpverlening<\/em><\/em> (Lannoo).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
